No — UK citizens don't need a visa to visit Malaysia for tourism or short business trips of up to 90 days. It's one of the more straightforward destinations in Southeast Asia for British passport holders. That said, there are a couple of genuinely important things to sort before you fly, and one requirement that catches people out because it's relatively new.
The Basics
British citizens can enter Malaysia visa-free for stays of up to 90 days, for tourism, social visits, or short business meetings. This applies at the point of entry — you don't need to apply for anything in advance to get this basic entry permission. Your passport just needs to be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Malaysia, so it's worth checking the expiry date now if you haven't travelled internationally in a while.
The One Thing People Miss: The MDAC
Since 1 January 2024, every visitor to Malaysia — UK citizens included — has been required to complete a Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before travelling. This is separate from the visa-free entry itself, and it's easy to miss if you're relying on older travel advice written before this rule came in.

- You'll need your passport details and flight information to hand
A tourist entry (social visit) pass is then automatically granted once you've submitted the MDAC and been admitted at the border — there's no separate visa stamp to arrange beyond this.
Vaccinations
There are no required vaccinations for UK travellers visiting Malaysia, unless you're arriving from a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission, in which case a vaccination certificate is required. That said, it's commonly recommended to be up to date on Hepatitis A and Tetanus, and depending on where in Malaysia you're travelling (particularly rural or forested areas), it's worth discussing Dengue and Rabies precautions with a travel health clinic before you go.
